A person must satisfy other people just as he must satisfy the Lord
One must behave properly toward other people just as one must behave toward God. It is not enough to observe commandments between man and God; one must also fulfill those between man and his fellow. (“Makom” is a rabbinic term referring to God, meaning “the One who is the place of the world, but the world is not His place.”)
("When one donates to the Temple treasury, he should not enter wearing a cloak with pockets, shoes, or phylacteries—lest people suspect him of stealing. For a person must be blameless before people just as he must be before God." – Shekalim 3b)

צָרִיךְ לְהִתְנַהֵג בְּצוּרָה טוֹבָה עִם בְּנֵי הָאָדָם כְּשֵׁם שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לְהִתְנַהֵג כְּלַפֵּי הָאֵל. לֹא דַּי לְהַקְפִּיד עַל הַמִּצְווֹת שֶׁבֵּין אָדָם לַמָּקוֹם אֶלָּא גַּם עַל הַמִּצְווֹת שֶׁבֵּין אָדָם לַחֲבֵרוֹ ('מָקוֹם' הוּא כִּנּוּי לָה' בִּלְשׁוֹן חָזָ"ל כְּמַאֲמַר הַמִּדְרָשׁ: "מִפְּנֵי מָה מְכַנֵּן שְׁמוֹ שֶׁל הקב"ה וְקוֹרְאִין אוֹתוֹ מָקוֹם?- שֶׁהוּא מְקוֹמוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם וְאֵין עוֹלָמוֹ מְקוֹמוֹ"- בְּרֵאשִׁית רַבָּה פָּרָשַׁת וְיָצָא פָּרָשָׁה סָח).
