Even the everyday talk of scholars needs study
Even ordinary conversation between scholars requires 'study' and deep contemplation in order to understand it.
("Rav said: Even the everyday talk of Torah scholars needs study, as it is written (Psalms 1): 'Its leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.' – Tractate Avodah Zarah 19b. And so: 'The everyday conversation of scholars needs study, in order to learn to speak in their language, which is a pure and rich tongue and brings healing.' – Rashi on Avodah Zarah 19b. And so: 'That is, all the conversations of the Torah scholars, when they converse and disagree, also require study, because the essence of dispute is due to lack of study, because one does not teach his Torah to others.' – Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, Likutei Moharan II, Torah 283. אֲפִלּוּ סְתָם שִׂיחָה רְגִילָה בֵּין חֲכָמִים צְרִיכָה 'לִמּוּד' וְהִתְעַמְּקוּת בָּהּ לְצֹרֶךְ הֲבָנָתָהּ.
