Blessed are the members of a generation in which the elders (or the wise) honor the young, listen to their words and obey them, and through this the young learn to honor and listen to the elders. A generation in which there is mutual attentiveness and respect is blessed.

מְאֻשָּׁרִים הֵם בֵּנִי הַדּוֹר שֶׁבּוֹ הַמְּבֻגָּרִים (אוֹ הַחֲכָמִים) מְכַבְּדִים אֶת הַצְּעִירִים וְשׁוֹמְעִים לְדִבְרֵיהֶם וּמְצַיְּתִים לָהֶם, וְשֶׁמִּתּוֹךְ כָּךְ לוֹמְדִים הַצְּעִירִים לְכַבֵּד וּלְהַקְשִׁיב לִצְעִירִים. מְבֹרָךְ הַדּוֹר שֶׁיֵּשׁ בּוֹ קֶשֶׁב וְכָבוֹד הֲדָדִי.
