You came to the city—walk in its ways
When you arrive at a new place, you must behave according to its customary rules. Do not deviate from the customs observed in the place you have come to. 'Do not change the custom of the country.' 'In Rome, behave as a Roman.'

כְּשֶׁאָדָם מַגִּיעַ לַמָּקוֹם חָדָשׁ עָלָיו לְהִתְנַהֵג לְפִי הַכְּלָלִים הַנְּהוּגִים בּוֹ. אֵין לַחֲרֹג מֵהַכְּלָלִים הַנְּהוּגִים בַּמָּקוֹם אֵלָיו הִגִּיעַ. 'אֵין מְשַׁנִּים מִמִּנְהַג הַמְּדִינָה'. 'בְּרוֹמָא תִּנְהַג כְּרוֹמָאִי'.
