Courts and tribunals in which humans sit to judge, as opposed to a celestial court where God is the judge.

בָּתֵּי מִשְׁפָּט וּבָתֵּי דִּין בָּהֶם בְּנֵי אָדָם יוֹשְׁבִים בַּדִּין כְּדֵי לִשְׁפֹּט, וְזֹאת לְהַבְדִּיל מִבֵּית דִּין שֶׁל מַעְלָה שֶׁבּוֹ הָאֵל הוּא הַשּׁוֹפֵט.
