A free person. Someone who is not a prisoner or a slave (ḥurim implies nobles or free people).

אָדָם חָפְשִׁי. אָדָם שֶׁאֵינוֹ אָסִיר אוֹ עֶבֶד (חֹרִים מַשְׁמָע אֲצִילִים אוֹ חָפְשִׁיִּים).
