A person with broad education. Someone knowledgeable in the world of culture (originally: tamed or civilized).
("The wolf, the lion, the bear, the leopard, the panther, and the snake – these are always liable. אָדָם בַּעַל הַשְׂכָּלָה רְחָבָה. אָדָם בַּעַל יֶדַע תְּעֻלַּם הַתַּרְבּוּת (בַּמָּקוֹר: מְבֻיָּת אוֹ מְתֻרְבָּת).
