A term indicating the total sum, encompassing all details or numbers collected together. Sometimes used in the sense of 'only' or 'merely'.
"And the count of verses of the Torah is five thousand and 462, and verses of the Prophets nine thousand and 274, and verses of the Writings seven thousand and 365, the sum-total is 24,999, excluding the external books" - Yalkut Shimoni, Torah, Parashat Eikev, hint Tathneh; and also: "And its explanation... and thirty years he stood before Pharaoh, and seven years of plenty, and two years of famine, and seventeen years that Jacob lived in Egypt, behold, in the sum-total it is fifty-six" - Meshekh Chokhmah, Genesis chapter 47.
