When you are merciful, the Omnipresent will have mercy on you

When you are merciful, the Omnipresent will have mercy on you

If you show mercy to people and to living creatures, so too will the Holy One, blessed be He, deal mercifully with you. ('Makom' is a Talmudic epithet for God, as the Midrash says: 'Why is the Holy One, blessed be He, called Makom (the Omnipresent)? Because He is the place of the world, but His world is not His place.' - Bereishit Rabbah, Parashat Vayetze, section 68).

("Rabbi Yehudah said in the name of Rabban Gamliel: It is written, 'And He will give you mercy...'. This is a sign in your hand: As long as you are merciful, the Omnipresent will have mercy on you; if you are not merciful, the Omnipresent will not have mercy on you."– Jerusalem Talmud, Bava Kamma 8:7)
