The sons of our forefather Jacob, who is also called Israel, from whom—according to the Torah—the people of Israel, the Jewish nation, were formed.

בָּנָיו שֶׁל יַעֲקֹב אָבִינוּ, הַקָּרוּי גַּם יִשְׂרָאֵל, שֶׁעַל פִּי הַתּוֹרָה מִמֶּנּוּ נוֹצַר עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל, הָעָם הַיְּהוּדִי.
