To wish someone well/ to wish to do someone good
To seek to do good for him. To be concerned with his welfare. The opposite of the expression: 'to seek his harm.'
("You shall not seek their peace and their prosperity all your days forever" Deuteronomy 23:7 (It is forbidden to form a covenant with the Moabites and the Ammonites), and so: "A hireling does not demand the welfare of the hireling, except in the case of a surety, as he said in Alma" - 16 Choshen Mishpat Simaman Sheka, and so: "Do you not know that I do not demand the welfare of the hireling? בִּקֵּשׁ לַעֲשׂוֹת לוֹ טוֹב. הִתְעַנְיֵן בְּטוֹבָתוֹ. הִפּוּכוֹ שֶׁל הַבִּטּוּי:'דָּרַשׁ בִּרְעֹתוֹ'.
