Point and counterpoint/ contradiction
Paradox. Two things that are opposites or contradict each other. 'Tartei desatei' (Aramaic for 'two contradictories').
(“In the days of the Nile the waters were sweet and could not be drunk, yet here the bitter waters became sweet, for the Lord made and transformed them” (Ibn Ezra, Exodus 15:26). Similarly, “You have dried up mighty rivers and transformed them; the flaky rock you turned into a spring, and from abundant waters you made dry land” (Radak, Psalms 104), and “They and their fragments, and the fragments of their fragments, are matters and their transformations, as when all are poured together” (Bialik, Safiach 1:126). Likewise, Solomon, in his wisdom, “compiled the Book of Proverbs, from which through the parables a person grasps a matter and transforms it” (Agnon, Ad Hena, VeTarov Chochmat Shlomo, 235).)

פָּרָדוֹקְס. שְׁנֵי דְּבָרִים הֲפוּכִים אוֹ סוֹתְרִים הָאֶחָד אֶת הַשֵּׁנִי. 'תַּרְתֵּי דְסָתְרֵי'.
