Paths that are twisted or complicated. By metaphor: paths that are not straightforward (winding meaning intricate).

דְּרָכִים מְפֻתָּלוֹת אוֹ מְסֻבָּכוֹת. בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: דְּרָכִים לֹא חֻקִּיּוֹת (עֲקַלְקַלּוֹת מַשְׁמָע מְפֻתָּלוֹת).
