A path paved with difficulties and obstacles. Figuratively: a problematic direction. Obstacles (חתחתים means cracks, fissures).

דֶּרֶךְ רְצוּפַת קְשָׁיִים וּמִכְשׁוֹלִים. בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: כִּוּוּן בְּעָיָתִי. מִכְשׁוֹלִים (חַתְחַתִּים מַשְׁמָע בְּקִיעִים, סְדָקִים).
