Law of the Pursuer
A halachic law according to which one is permitted to harm a person who is pursuing another person in order to kill him, so as to save the pursued.
("And these are the ones who save them by their lives, the pursuer chasing after his friend to kill him" - Sanhedrin 8:7, and likewise: 'The law of the pursuer is like the law of a robber, for the pursuer is jealous for his blood from now until when they are broken, and even if they are not broken they return' - Beit HaBechira by Meiri, Tractate Sanhedrin 76a.)

דִּין הִלְכָתִי לְפִיו יֵשׁ לִפְגֹּעַ בְּאָדָם הָרוֹדֵף אַחֲרֵי אָדָם אַחֵר כְּדֵי לְהָרְגוֹ כְּדֵי לְהַצִּיל אֶת הַנִּרְדָּף.
