An injunction to postpone judicial decision until morning, in order to settle and deliberate calmly and with full reflection. It teaches that it is not advisable to rush judgment, for justice requires fairness and depth.
(“‘House of David, thus says the Lord: Give judgment in the morning and rescue the oppressed from the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go out like fire and burn with none to quench it, because of the evil of their deeds’” (Jeremiah 21:12). Rabbi Yoshiyah asked: What does it mean, “Give judgment in the morning”? Is it that judgment is only in the morning and not all day? Rather, it teaches: if the matter is clear in the morning, act then; if it is not clear, do not declare it prematurely. Similarly, King Solomon called the Sanhedrin and asked them what they say regarding this matter; they remained silent. He said to them: “Give judgment in the morning.”)

יֵשׁ לַעֲרֹךְ מִשְׁפָּטִים בְּנַחַת וּלְלֹא חִפָּזוֹן (בִּשְׁעוֹת הַבֹּקֶר). מוּטָב לִדְחוֹת אֶת הַבֵּרוּר הַמִּשְׁפָּטִי לַבֹּקֶר, שָׁעָה שֶׁבָּהּ יֵשׁ זְמַן לָדוּן בַּדָּבָר בְּנִנּוֹחוּת. צִוּוּי לִשְׁפֹּט מִשְׁפַּט צֶדֶק (רְאֵה לְהַלָּן פַּרְשָׁנוּת נוֹסֶפֶת שֶׁל הַתַּלְמוּד).
