Gentle reproof/ mild admonition/ reproof/ rebuke

Words of persuasion. Requests and claims. Or: Words of reproof that come from the heart. Words that can 'subdue' the heart.

(‘What is the order of fast days? They bring out the ark into the public square of the city and place ashes from the hearth upon the ark, and on the head of the Nasi, and on the head of the head of the court. And each and every one places it upon his own head.
