The parable does not resemble the thing it illustrates
There is no logical correspondence between the story of the parable and the subject it illustrates.
("And Mount Sinai was altogether in smoke. The mountain was in smoke and not the fire, for the fire that is before the glory of God does not produce smoke, and what was said: 'as the smoke of a furnace'—it is known that the parable does not resemble the thing it illustrates, but because we are corporeal"—Rabbeinu Bahya, Exodus 19:18)

אֵין הַתְאָמָה הֶגְיוֹנִית בֵּין סִפּוּר הַמָּשָׁל לְנוֹשֵׂא הַנִּמְשָׁל.
