One man's misfortune is another's gain

One man's misfortune is another's gain

Any misfortune that befalls one person may bring profit to another (such as a doctor, lawyer, or mechanic, who usually provide their services to people facing some problem).

("When all the lands went to the tops of the mountains, and each one swallowed the people of its place... the sea flooded over them, and thirty families from them were drowned. Rabbi Levi said: There is no misfortune that comes to a person from which others do not benefit." - Genesis Rabbah (Vilna), Parashat Noach, Section 38)
