A Bible verse never departs from its literal meaning
A Bible verse cannot be interpreted in a way that contradicts its plain meaning. One must give weight to the straightforward sense of the words in the biblical verse, that is, to its literal meaning.

אֵין הַמִּקְרָא (אֹסֶף הַסְּפָרִים הַמַּרְכִּיבִים אֶת הַתָּנָ"ךְ) יָכוֹל לְהִתְפָּרֵשׁ בְּצוּרָה הַסּוֹתֶרֶת אֶת הַפְּשָׁט הָאָמוּר בּוֹ. יֵשׁ לָתֵת מִשְׁקָל לַמַּשְׁמָעוּת הַפְּשׁוּטָה שֶׁל הַמִּלִּים שֶׁבַּפָּסוּק הַמִּקְרָאִי, כְּלוֹמַר לִ'פְּשׁוּטוֹ שֶׁל מִקְרָא'.
