A Small Organ Is in Man: When You Starve It, It Is Satisfied; When You Satisfy It, It Is Hungry
One whose thoughts are always focused on satisfying desire will remain hungry for more. But one who "starves" their impulse is satisfied and freed from the pursuit of cravings.
("Rabbi Yohanan said: A man has a small organ; when you starve it, it is satisfied; when you satisfy it, it is hungry." – Sukkah 52b)

מִי שֶׁמַּחְשְׁבוֹתָיו נְתוּנוֹת תָּמִיד עַל סִפּוּק הַיֵּצֶר, הֲרֵי שֶׁתָּמִיד יִשָּׁאֵר בּוֹ רָעָב לְעוֹד סִפּוּקִים דּוֹמִים. אַךְ מִי שֶׁ"מַרְעִיב" אֶת יִצְרוֹ - הֲרֵי שֶׁהוּא "שָׂבֵעַ" וּמְשֻׁחְרָר מֵהָרְדִיפָה אַחַר תַּאֲווֹתָיו.
