Gabai Tzedakah
People engaged in collecting donations and distributing them to the needy. Managers of matters of charity.
("They do not examine, neither from the altar upwards, nor from the booth upwards, nor from the Sanhedrin upwards; all those whose fathers were held to be public officers and gabai tzedakah are raised to the priesthood and there is no need to investigate after them" - Kiddushin 4:5, and likewise: "A gabai tzedakah who did not find poor people to distribute to, sells the bread to others and does not sell to himself; a gabai tzedakah breaks down to others and does not break down to himself" - Tosefta, Tractate Bava Metzia (Liberman) Chapter 3.)

אֲנָשִׁים הָעוֹסְקִים בְּאִסּוּף תְּרוּמוֹת וַחֲלֻקָּתָם לְנִזְקָקִים. מְנַהֲלֵי עִנְיְנֵי הַצְּדָקָה.
