Great is the Honor of Creatures That Overrides the 'Thou Shalt Not' in the Torah
The principle of the honor of creatures, and the prohibition not to harm a person's honor is so great that it justifies overriding prohibitions of the 'thou shalt not' type in certain specific cases to prevent insult to a person or to assist him.
(“If one needed to relieve himself, what is the ruling? He said to them: Great is human dignity, for it overrides a prohibition in the Torah.” (Eruvin 41b) “Which takes precedence — the reading of the Megillah or a neglected corpse (a met mitzvah)? Does the reading of the Megillah take precedence משום publicizing the miracle, or perhaps a neglected corpse takes precedence משום human dignity? After raising the question, he resolved it: A neglected corpse takes precedence. For the Master said: Great is human dignity, for it overrides a prohibition in the Torah.” (Megillah 3b))

הָעִקָּרוֹן שֶׁל כְּבוֹד הַבְּרִיּוֹת,וְהָאִסּוּר שֶׁלֹּא לִפְגֹּעַ בִּכְבוֹדוֹ שֶׁל אָדָם גָּדוֹל כָּל כָּךְ עַד כְּדֵי כָּךְ שֶׁמֻּתָּר לַעֲבֹר עַל אִסּוּרִים מִסּוּג 'לֹא תַּעֲשֶׂה' בְּמִקְרִים מְסֻיָּמִים כְּדֵי לִמְנֹעַ עֶלְבּוֹן מֵאָדָם אוֹ כְּדֵי לְסַיֵּעַ לוֹ.
