A simple person stands out. A simpleton or an uneducated person wants to be first in everything (a simpleton means a simple or common person).

אָדָם פָּשׁוּט מַבְלִיט אֶת עַצְמוֹ. הֶדְיוֹט אוֹ חֲסַר הַשְׂכָּלָה רוֹצֶה לִהְיוֹת רִאשׁוֹן בְּכָל דָּבָר (הֶדְיוֹט מַשְׁמָע אָדָם פָּשׁוּט אוֹ עֲמָמִי).
