To do a thing immediately/ no sooner said than done/ to do something even before being asked
By metaphor: to do and command immediately before clarifying the reason. To act without asking questions and without objections (its original source is in Exodus 24:7: "And he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people; and they said: All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will hear").
