He Distanced His Testimony
He relied in his words or testimony on a certain matter whose reliability was difficult to ascertain or to verify. In question: He aroused a lack of faith in his words that were not subject to verification.
("If we believe that he is his son, we believe that he is a priest; but if we do not believe that he is a priest, we do not believe that he is his son, and he will do as a witness far away, and it will be true for him" - Jerusalem Letters 2:7, and so: "And why is it said, I brought you out of the land of Egypt, and not said, I created heaven and earth, according to which he who wants to lie will far away his witnesses The mountains of this thing did not see, so the thing that they saw with their eyes was reminded to them, and so you will find it in the Book of Zohar" - I am the Most Precious Names 22, and so: "And Moyzah's way is to spread slander to remove his testimony, and when they asked them from whom you heard this thing that you say evil about him, they said that they heard it from so-and-so, and so-and-so, who was buried after his death" - From the beginning of the days, they praised her, and so: "Why should I remove my testimony? O mountains of Joseph, the son of Moses, Abraham, before you..." - Shalom Aleichem/ Hakedera, KK3, and so: "We cannot remove our testimony, O mountains of Jeroboam, my beloved, how many years has it been in the land of Israel" - Agnon/ Orech Natah Lalon, 222)
