Reprove Your Fellow

Reprove Your Fellow

A saying that calls for social involvement and protest when witnessing injustice done. One must rebuke another when necessary.

("You shall not hate your brother in your heart. He who has wronged your neighbor, and you shall not bear sin against him" - and he read 19:17, and so: "Who sees in his friend a word of reproach that he is obliged to rebuke him? The Talmud says: "He has wronged your neighbor." He rebuked and did not accept, how can he return and rebuke him? The Talmud says: "Rebuke", from every place" - Masekhet (Arachin 16b)
