Postpones the Sabbath

It is permitted to perform it on the Sabbath. The performance of something forbidden to do on the Sabbath, but because of its importance, its performance is permitted.

(“Rabbi Matya ben Ḥarash further said: ‘One who has a pain in his throat is given medicine into his mouth on the Sabbath, because it is a possible danger to life, and any possible danger to life overrides the Sabbath.’ — Yoma 84d; and likewise: ‘Circumcision at its proper time overrides the Sabbath, but when not at its proper time, it overrides neither the Sabbath nor a Festival.’ — Maimonides, Sefer Ahavah, Laws of Circumcision.”)
