A teacher walked before his master.
The procession stopped when the rabbi took his place (the matter was considered forbidden and an insult to the rabbi's honor, because he is the adult and the experienced, and therefore he is the one who is needed to teach the procession).
("And there was a certain disciple of Rabbi Eliezer, whose teacher walked before him. Rabbi Eliezer said to his wife, Amma Shalom: I wonder if this man will come out of his bed. And his bed did not come out. She said to him: Are you a prophet? He said to her: I am not a prophet, nor am I the son of a prophet, but this is what I have received: Every teacher who walks before his teacher is liable to death" - Erubin Seg (A)
