A person should not take leave of his friend except with a matter of halacha, so that he will remember him through it
It is a beautiful custom to end a meeting with a friend by sharing a teaching from Torah or some wisdom, because such words can cause the friend to remember him also by virtue of what he said.

מִנְהָג יָפֶה הוּא לְסַיֵּם מִפְגָּשׁ עִם חָבֵר בַּאֲמִירַת דָּבָר תּוֹרָה אוֹ דָּבָר חָכְמָה כָּלְשֶׁהוּ, כִּי יֵשׁ בָּהֶם לְהָבִיא לְכָךְ שֶׁהֶחָבֵר יִזְכֹּר אוֹתוֹ גַּם בִּזְכוּת הַדְּבָרִים שֶׁאָמַר.
