He said what he had to say.
(He said to him, the Holy One, blessed be He: You have said your piece and I will say mine. The descendants of Isaac are destined to sin before Me, and I will judge them on Rosh Hashanah; but if they seek that I should search for merit for them and remember for them the Binding of Isaac, let them sound the shofar before Me. – Midrash Tanchuma (Warsaw) Parashat Vayera, section 23)
