Went around. Came to speak not in a direct way. By extension: spoke in an indirect manner.
("If you can acquit him according to the laws of Israel—acquit him and say to him: This is our law. According to the laws of the Canaanites—acquit him and say to him: This is your law. הָלַךְ מִסָּבִיב. הִגִּיעַ לְדָבָר שֶׁלֹּא בַּדֶּרֶךְ הַיְּשִׁירָה. בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: דִּבֵּר בְּצוּרָה עֲקִיפָה.
