In his old age. In the final period of his life.
("And Jacob called unto his sons and said: Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the latter days" – Genesis 49:1. And also: "In the ways of David his father at first, and not at the end, when he sinned with Bathsheba...
