Mist-Clad/ The Cat of the Mist

A literary metaphor for the fog that envelops and covers everything (a cat means an envelope).

("When I made the cloud its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band" - Job 38:9, and also: "When they ascended, a cave opened for them and they found there a staff made by heaven; and Aaron would remove one vessel and Eleazar was clothed in cloud and mist" - Yalkut Shimoni on the Torah, Parashat Hukkat, Remez 764, and also: "And in grief there are no words, we saw it moving away from us, cloaked in mist / rising from the mighty and restless waterfalls the girls call it / with love, the maiden" - Nathan Yonatan / Notes from New Ithaca)
