Beating of Fronds, Beating of Willows/ beating of willows twigs (in the synagogue on Hosha'na Rabbah)
The beating of the willow branches in the Ritzpah is customary today on the holiday of Hosanna Ravah, according to the custom that existed in the Temple (freedoms of hearing the sound of the branches).
("The palm branches were brought, and they were beaten with a hammer beside the altar, and that day is called the beating of the palm branches. From the time the infants were cleansed, they would pluck their hearts, and eat their flesh" - Sukkah Ma a"a, and so: "Therefore the beating of the palm branches on the day of the great feast - that the laws were concluded upon the nations. And in my fatness it was a sign "Joy and gladness for Israel" - light and sun in the wilderness (Parashah of Pinchas)
