The wisdom of a man illuminates his face
A saying about a man's wisdom is visible to the eye and radiates in the beauty of his face.
("Who is so wise and who knows the secret of a matter? A man's wisdom brightens his face, and his strength darkens his face" - Ecclesiastes 8:1, and so: "Rabbi Abahu went to Tiberias, Hamon, to study with his rabbi Johanan, the son of Nehiran, and said to him, 'Rabbi Johanan forgot, Rabbi Abahu, Sima, said to him, "Why did you say to her, the son of Nehiran, that she should not be afraid of the Torah, since she has heard it?'" Clear the back of your head, and you will hear the words of the Torah, which are written in the ancient Torah, and you will read the wisdom of a man whose face is radiant (translation: Rabbi Abbahu went to Caesar and returned from there with his face radiant. The disciples saw him and said to Rabbi Yochanan: Rabbi Abbahu has found a treasure. He said to them: Why? They said to him: His face is radiant. He said to them: He heard a new Torah. Rabbi Yochanan went up to him and said to him: And what new Torah have you heard? He said to him: An old one will be added. He read to him: A man's wisdom will brighten his face" - Yerushalmi Shabbat 8,1, and so: "Behold, his wisdom will brighten his face, and no wickedness will be found on his lips" - Avraham Mapu/ Ayit Tsavoa, 106, and so: "And his wisdom will be In the streets of the city and in its streets, and he will find a Jewish man, old and mature, whose wisdom will light up his face, and he will give him peace" - Mordecai ben Yehezkel/ Book of Acts, Part Four, David King of Israel, alive and well, 144)
