A Matter of Commandment
Any commandment. The fulfillment of a halachic directive. A moral and good matter.
(Rav Assi said: It is forbidden for a man to coerce his wife to a matter of commandment, as it is said, "And he hastens with his feet to sin". And Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said: Anyone who forces his wife to a matter of commandment will have children who are not decent - Eruvin 110b, and likewise: He used to say, anyone who causes his friend to do a matter of commandment is credited as if he himself did it - Tractate Ketanot, Tractate Avot de-Rabbi Natan, version A, chapter 24, and likewise: Immediately Yosel opened a crack and said: Surely he who goes to a matter of commandment is righteous - H. מִצְוָה כָּלְשֶׁהִי. קִיּוּם צִוּוּי הִלְכָתִי. דָּבָר מוּסָרִי וְטוֹב.
