A boor is not God-fearing
A person who is empty of knowledge is not careful to avoid sin, because he does not understand the significance of sin.
("He used to say: A boor is not God-fearing, nor is an ignorant person pious; the shy one does not learn, and the strict one does not teach; not everyone who increases business becomes wise; and in a place where there are no people, strive to be a person." – Avot 2:5)
