Great are my sins beyond bearing

In a figurative sense: I have committed a great sin. Expressing sorrow and confession of guilt (in the source: the punishment is too great to bear).

(See Genesis 4:13 above, and also: "Great is the burden of my sin / and great is the hand of my rebellion / therefore my joints are weak / and I have shortened my sowing / and woe is me if / You judge me as my wickedness" - Rabbi Abraham ibn Ezra / Go to my desire, and also: "What will help me, God? Behold, my sin is great beyond bearing and I am not able to endure" - Agnon / These and those, and the crooked shall be made straight, 99)
