Decree of Annihilation
A governmental decree concerning religious persecutions or edicts to convert the religion.
("Sword" - as we said in the Mishnah regarding one who suffers under it, it is not the end of the matter that the sword is not for peace, such as when there is no conquering of lands or imposing taxes on them or a decree of annihilation, but even a sword for peace - Beit Habechirah le-Meiri, Tractate Ta'anit 22a.)

הַחְלָטָה שִׁלְטוֹנִית עַל רְדִיפוֹת דָּת אוֹ גְּזֵרוֹת לְהָמִיר אֶת הַדָּת.
