Woe to the generation that judges its judges; woe to the generation whose judges are judged
Woe to the generation that brings its judges or leaders to trial. It is a terrible thing for a society when its judges or leaders must be judged for their own wrongdoing. This reflects deep corruption within that generation.

אוֹי לְאוֹתוֹ הַדּוֹר שֶׁמַּעֲמִיד לְדִין אֶת שׁוֹפְטָיו אוֹ אֶת מַנְהִיגָיו. רַע מְאוֹד לִבְנֵי אוֹתוֹ הַדּוֹר שֶׁבּוֹ הַשּׁוֹפְטִים אוֹ הַמַּנְהִיגִים מֻעֲמָדִים לְדִין בְּשֶׁל מַעֲשֵׂיהֶם הָרָעִים. הַדָּבָר מְבַטֵּא שְׁחִיתוּת גְּדוֹלָה בְּקֶרֶב בְּנֵי אוֹתוֹ הַדּוֹר.
