The Secret of Tzimtzum/ zimzum (in Kabbalah: God's self-contraction to allow room for creation)/ the art of summarizing

A concept in Kabbalah according to which the Creator, so to speak, contracted His spiritual presence in order to allow the physical world to exist. By extension: the ability to condense; the ability to formulate a complex matter in concise form without damaging its content.

("Thus it is written in the writings of the late Ari, "In the secret of Shmuel, in the secret of the narrowing" - Kedushat Levi, Kedushot for the fifth holy initiation, and thus: "In this study the wise men of Hershim received the secret of the narrowing... The beginning of everything was the manifestation of a simple light, and it was called light without end, and there was no sacred space and there was empty air, and when it ascended at His will To ennoble and to create, etc., He reduced the A'A to the center of His light at the center point, and He made a round sphere, which is the place for all the worlds that He made" - Malbim Shemot 32:21, and so on: "For before creation, the light of the Holy One, the Blessed One, was endless. And the Holy One, the Blessed One, willed that His kingdom be revealed, and there is no king without a people, and it was necessary to create the sons of men. That they may receive His kingdom...and He will reduce the light to an endless extent, and an open space will remain. In the midst of the open space is the Creator of the worlds" - Rabbi Nachman of Breslau/ Likutei Moharan, Torah 49:1, as follows: "He stood on the secret of the reduction, all His signs - He is the little that strengthens the many" - Bialik / A.L. Pasternak, and as follows: "Her aspiration is The knowledge of narrowing down to one's own...the words reminded him of the secret of the Kabbalistic narrowing" - H. Baer/ To the Place Where the Spirit Goes, 181)
