Asleep with one eye open
Figuratively: alert even while asleep; keeping watch over what is happening even when he is asleep or appears to be asleep.

בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: עֵרָנִי גַּם כְּשֶׁהוּא יָשֵׁן. מַשְׁגִּיחַ עַל הַנַּעֲשֶׂה גַּם כְּשֶׁהוּא יָשָׁן אוֹ נִרְאֶה כְּיָשָׁן.
