Jerusalem of Gold
An affectionate nickname for Jerusalem (originally, the name of a gilded ornament on which the city of Jerusalem was engraved).
("And not in a city of gold—what is a city of gold? Rabbah bar bar Chanah said in the name of Rabbi Yohanan: Jerusalem of gold, as Rabbi Akiva made for his wife. The Sages taught: A woman may not go out wearing a city of gold, and if she did go out, she is liable to bring a sin offering, according to Rabbi Meir.
