Sleepers of Dust/ the dead (who sleep in the dust)
A nickname for the dead.
("And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches and everlasting contempt" — Daniel 12:2; and: "You are mighty forever, Lord... You support the fallen, heal the sick, free the bound, and keep faith with those who sleep in the dust" — the Amidah prayer; and also: "The sleepers of dust have already returned to their homes to inquire / Which man and which woman are now lying on their beds" — ACG / All night he stood over the forest.)
