May It Be Magnified and Sanctified/ magnified and sanctified be His great name (Kaddish)

The famous opening of the Kaddish prayer, recited in Aramaic. It is said in memory of a deceased person or people.

("And I will magnify Myself, sanctify Myself, and make Myself known in the eyes of many nations; and they shall know that I am the LORD" — Ezekiel 38:23; and also: "May His great name be magnified and sanctified in the world that He created according to His will" — the opening of the Kaddish prayer; and also: "And the solitary one came in the night and in silence, / and he came and said the Kaddish: / 'May it be magnified and sanctified...' / When he had finished, and with him there was no one / not even a man" — Shaul Tchernichovsky, The Bells)
