אַל תַּעַשׂ עַצְמְךָ כְּעוֹרְכֵי הַדַּיָּנִין
כְּלָל הַמֻּפְנֶה לַשּׁוֹפֵט שֶׁלֹּא יַעֲשֶׂה עַצְמוֹ כְּעוֹרֵךְ דִּין שֶׁל אַחַד הַצְּדָדִים לַדִּיּוּן, אֶלָּא עָלָיו לִשְׁמֹר עַל אוֹבְּיֶקְטִיבִיּוּת בַּדִּיּוּן הַמִּשְׁפָּטִי. אוֹ: אָסוּר לַשּׁוֹפֵט לְהַחֲשִׁיב אֶת עַצְמוֹ כְּשׁוֹפֵט כָּל כָּךְ חָכָם שֶׁיּוֹדֵעַ הַכֹּל ('אַרְכִי דַּיָּן') וְשֶׁאֵינוֹ צָרִיךְ לִטְרֹחַ וּלְהַקְשִׁיב לַטְּעָנוֹת הַנִּשְׁמָעוֹת בְּפָנָיו.

A principle directed at a judge not to make himself like the advocate of one of the litigants, but rather to maintain objectivity in the legal discussion. Alternatively: A judge must not consider himself so wise that he knows everything ('chief judge') and does not need to exert effort and listen to the arguments presented before him.
