The twelve signs of the zodiac according to astrology. By extension: a person's fortune (originally: the belief of the ancient astrologers that there is an imaginary circle in the heavens where the sun revolves around the earth, and this circle is divided into twelve signs).

("Astrologers say that the firmament returns in a wheel, and the signs return within it; the sages said to them: if it returns in a wheel, the cart must be once in the south and once in the north" - Otzar HaMidrashim (Eisenstein) Hallel, 128, and also: "Before the sun or after the sun, that is, the illuminating side that faced the sun or the dark side that faced the sun... the inclination of the moon’s ends changes according to the winds of the world by the width of the place and the width of the moon and its position in the wheel of the zodiac" - Commentary on the Mishnah by Maimonides, Tractate Rosh Hashanah 2:7, and also: "His trade routes were disrupted, the wheel of his fortune descended lower and lower, and he left clear of his possessions.
