the contrary is correct / the opposite holds / the reverse is true
הגדרה (אנגלית)
The opposite is correct! In fact, the contrary seems more plausible!
("‘And you shall keep My Sabbaths.’ How so? ‘And the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath’—one observance for many Sabbaths; ‘and you shall keep My Sabbaths’—one observance for each and every Sabbath. Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak objected: On the contrary, the opposite is correct! ‘And the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath’—one observance for each and every Sabbath, ‘and you shall keep My Sabbaths’—one observance for many Sabbaths.’ (Shabbat 69b); ‘I was seized by the bulmus of the ipcha mistabra, I disagree with any public that tells me something’ (Steiman/Eyn Lo Ra’atah); ‘Why did the sages say: a good thought the Holy One joins to an action, but here the opposite is correct: “you shall observe and do them” is written. Deed is necessary... Rather, the sages said: a good thought, the Holy One causes you to join to an action’ (Y. Burla/Kisufim, 66); ‘Page 57 in Tractate Berakhot... there the Talmud applies the ipcha mistabra interpretation to a long list of dreams a person sees’ (H. Bar/El Makom Sheharuach Holech, 93))
