God has spoken once; twice have I heard this

God has spoken once; twice have I heard this

In figurative or poetic language: something that is said or written can be understood in more than one way.

("God has spoken once; twice have I heard this, that power belongs to God" – Psalms 62:12; also: “So it is said: God spoke once, yet we heard twice... Is it not written, ‘Is not My word like fire,’ says the Lord, ‘and like a hammer that shatters the rock?’” – Jerusalem Talmud, Nedarim 3b)
